Description
Get a good deal on a professional child’s haircut and at the same time bring some fun into the lives of kids with cancer. Mark your calendar for August 12 and be part of this compelling fundraiser, Haircuts for Kids.
Four professional hair stylists who are now Brokers with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Starck Real Estate are volunteering their time and talents to trim and tame your child’s summer hair in time for the first school bell.
The suggested cost per haircut is $10 through age 13 and $15 through age 18, but any amount will be accepted. You can’t beat that deal, and you can’t beat the worthwhile organization that this fundraiser supports. The Sunshine Kids is a nonprofit organization whose sole mission is to provide fun, enriching activities for children battling cancer.
Since 1982, The Sunshine Kids Foundation based in Houston, Texas, has lightened the spirits of kids undergoing the tough demands of cancer treatment completely free of charge. Programs range from sporting events to Disney tea parties; ice shows to bowling parties; crafts to ski trips.
To find out more about the good work of The Sunshine Kids Foundation and how you can contribute, please go to SunshineKids.org.
The location of Haircuts for Kids is the J DeCarlo Salon and Spa at 139 S. Batavia Avenue in Batavia. The salon space, equipment and materials for the event are all being donated free of charge thanks to the generosity of Broker Jason DeCarlo and his wife Jennifer, salon owner. Several of the salon’s stylists will also be working the event.
No appointments necessary, just walk in from 1:00 to 5:00pm on Sunday, August 12. The event is also raffling assorted gift baskets, including school back packs stuffed with goodies, wine/chocolate assortments, toys and games.
Every dime generated at this event will be donated directly to The Sunshine Kids. This fundraiser is cooperatively supported by the Brokers in the Berkshire Hathaway Starck Real Estate office in St. Charles. Committee members include Jason DeCarlo, Frances Lawson, Leanne Glabinski, Christine Ewald, Beverly Gamble and Rex Zimmerman. Hair stylists from the office are Filomena Hautzinger, Jennifer Strubler, Natalie Gjokaj and Lisa Prather, all professionally trained.
