Maintenance Technician I (3rd Shift)

Job Description

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is searching for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician I to work at our Dolce Q Center in St Charles, IL. This position is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests and employees.

*Please note: this shift is from 11:00pm - 7:30am Tuesday thru Saturday*

Fundamental Requirements:

  • Complete assigned work orders for general repair within assigned time frame in order to achieve operational efficiency of the hotel, its safety and its equipment.
  • Immediately and courteously respond  to guests needs in order to diagnose, repair and resolve room maintenance requests and problems as they arise.
  • Diagnose and repair fitness center equipment.
  • Diagnose and make basic repairs to individual fan coil units:  change filters, clean coils, replace motors, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair small cleaning equipment: vacuums, extractors, scrubbers, etc.
  • Respond to maintenance related help calls from guests and associates.
  • Assist supervisor and others with maintenance projects or tasks as requested.
  • Take required readings on equipment. Report to supervisor and take action as instructed.
  • Ceiling tile repair and replacement.
  • Basic understanding of blue prints and wiring diagrams.
  • Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
  • Perform furniture repair and office furniture/workstation installation.
  • Trace all types of water lines and perform small repairs.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, roddings, toilet replacement, etc.).
  • Make basic repairs on kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain repair and preventative maintenance automated and manual records.
  • Become proficient in the use of electronic devices for  recording work activity, receiving work orders and PM’s.
  • Perform and maintain work to local, state and Federal codes.
  • Perform all other maintenance and facility care tasks as requested to assist Q Center as a whole.
  • Have a comfort level in working alone, with others, and group projects with teams.
  • Request necessary parts with accurate detailed information.
  • Participate in inventory maintenance and periodic counting.
  • Basic repair and programming of hotel electronic locks systems.

Education & Experience: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful. 
  • Drivers License


Physical requirements:

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Comfort level with operating and working from a lift.
