Production Assistant

Job Description
Wyndham Hotel Group is searching for a Production Assistant at our Q Center location - A Dolce Conference Collection property located in St. Charles, IL.

Our Q Creative department produces events and media for corporate clients at our St. Charles property and at locations around the world. We need someone who has a broad set of general production skills with a foundation in media and/or event production. 
The successful candidate will assist our technical director, crew chief production coordinator and producers within Q Creative to make our productions successful. We have identified a list of skills and tasks we want to fill with this position (look below), but perhaps more important is your desire to learn, be creative and problem solve, as you grow your technical knowledge and skills.
Now, the list:
  • Assist with stage light setup and operation, lighting for video shoots and events
  • Manage computer equipment and video displays, including updating software, passwords, iTunes playlists, Dropbox sync, etc.
  • Assist with the setup and operation of audio and video production equipment, including microphones, mixers, video cameras, projectors, video switchers, recorders, playback systems and teleprompters.
  • Drive Q Center vehicles to transport equipment and scenic items
  • Operate a powered lift during setups and strikes at heights up to twenty feet.
  • Move equipment to and from storage location for events and shoots
  • Prepare daily work-order printouts for production crew
  • Use Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Skype
  • Assist with post-production tasks including basic video editing and encoding
  • Obtain and manage internal/external music and stock footage research and licensing
  • Assist producers with billings and processing vendor invoices
  • Assist with video asset file tracking and management
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects or equivalent a plus
  • This job will require the individual to work flexible schedule which can include some Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Long hours are required during the weekdays and weekends when in production of live events or media production.
  • Since our team supports production all over the world, some domestic and international travel may also be required.
The Skills:
  • Must hold a B.S./B.A. in Communications, Media Production, Marketing, Theatre, or related field
  • Should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be an independent worker and self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must possess the ability to manage time efficiently and negotiate requests from multiple people
  • Should have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Should be capable of conducting internet and phone-based research
