Alma Dance School (Glen Ellyn) and Directors Vilma Machin and Guillermo Leyva extend sincere congratulations to Alma students, Ella McEnany (St. Charles, St. Charles High School), Madison Sanders (Geneva) and Katherine Ochoa on their spectacular performances during the 2019 Youth America Grand Prix Semi-Finals in Chicago (Jan 10 – 13, 2019). Youth America Grand Prix is the world's largest non-profit international student ballet competition and scholarship program, open to dance students of all nationalities 9–19 years old. Madison Sanders placed top 12 in the Senior Classical Division, Ella McEnany placed top 12 in the Senior Division for her classical and contemporary pieces, and, Katherine Ochoa was awarded the top honor for the competition for the Senior Age Division - the Youth America Grand Prix Award. Directors Vilma Machin and Guillermo Leyva were also awarded Outstanding Teacher Awards. Katherine Ochoa and Ella McEnany have been invited to compete in the Youth America Grand Prix Finals in New York in April. Great job dancers, we are so proud!
