Carlos Contreras, Senior Foreman, was honored with the LMN Snow Hero of the Year award. The award recognizes an individual who demonstrates outstanding personal and professional attributes and who has helped improve the company’s operations through their hard work and smart thinking.
“Carlos exemplifies what it means to be a team player,” stated Jim Turcan, president and CEO of CPHort. “He works tirelessly to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied, no matter the season, but especially during the winter months when we are in full ice and snow management mode. He is exactly the kind of employee you want on your team to help you succeed. He’s a true leader.”
Gary Brester, Sales Manager, was also recognized as a Snow and Ice All-Star and honored with the Sales Employee of the Year award for his work both in the field and behind the scenes related to snow and ice management. Brester was one of seven individuals recognized as an All-Star at the event, all of whom hold various roles within their respective organizations.
“Gary’s tenacity, along with his ability to lead our sales force, has been invaluable to us,” Turcan explained. “I appreciate his ability to articulate our company’s strengths and capabilities to a potential customer and then work to anticipate the client’s needs as our relationship with them grows. He is very deserving of the ‘All-Star’ designation.”
CPHort was also proud to be one of the organizations honored as the 2019 "Best Snow and Ice Companies to Work For" award. SIMA used the opportunity to recognize companies in the industry that focus on being great places to work and those that promote the industry as one in which successful and rewarding careers can be built.
“SIMA is a wonderful organization that continually promotes the snow and ice management industry. Through ongoing education and certification programs, along with offering best practices for sustainability and environmental issues, our relationship with SIMA has not only helped us to serve our clients better but to be an employer of choice for those wanting to grow their career in this industry,” said Turcan.Cornerstone Partners Horticultural Services Co. provides an array of horticultural and snow and ice management services throughout the Chicago area to both commercial and residential customers.
