More than 300 Attend Grand Opening of Naperville Design Center
Naperville, IL – On Thursday, February 7, Great Western Flooring kicked off a new era in the A.R.T. of Flooring with the official Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Celebration at its new Naperville Design Center. Mayor Steve Chirico led the ceremony and performed the ribbon-cutting honors with well over 300 guests in attendance, including representatives from the Naperville Chamber of Commerce, the Naperville Development Partnership, and residents from the City of Naperville and neighboring communities in attendance as well.  Lauren Voit, President of Great Western Flooring, and Dana Park, Vice President, were the primary representatives on hand from the company, which included Kim Holt, manager of the new location, and many design consultants, installation specialists and other representatives.
The theme of the evening was The A.R.T. of Flooring – alluding to the company’s motto of providing “accountability, reliability and trust” with every customer encounter. To underscore the theme, the event featured art by two artists – Marshall Fox, carpet fiber artist with Def Rugs; and Lisa Tolbert of Mosaic Whimsies, who was showcasing her tile artistry by creating a new piece of art on site.  Guests were even able to partake in their own artwork by adding to a wall mosaic work-in-progress.
“Giving back to the community is part of what small businesses do,” said Mayor Chirico, “and we are very grateful to Great Western Flooring for continuing to do that.” He then greeted guests throughout the evening with a handshake and a warm welcome to the new store.  Naperville Chamber of Commerce President Nicki Anderson was also on hand, leading a strong contingent of representatives from the Chamber.
“This is extra special today,” Ms. Anderson said. “I am so proud to be here with Great Western Flooring to celebrate their 38 years in the community.  They’ve helped foster an environment of strong business growth and job creation in Naperville, which is part of what makes our community so great.”
Each attendee left with a $250 gift certificate good toward their next purchase at Great Western Flooring. Danielle Tufano from 95.9 River Radio broadcast live throughout the evening. Guests enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres from Hugo’s Frog Bar.
Design consultants spoke with many guests about upcoming projects. “We listen to each client’s needs and talk about their lifestyle and how they are going to use the space. We consider functionality, durability, beauty and budget when recommending flooring options,” Kim Holt said. Several guests walked out with flooring options for their homes.
Great Western Flooring’s extended 10%-off sale continues through Saturday, February 9.
Great Western Flooring began in 1981 by serving residential customers as The Great Western Tile Company, but soon expanded to include other flooring materials and an expanded clientele.  The company’s success has been built around the cornerstone of accountability, reliability and trust – what Great Western Flooring refers to as the “ART of flooring.” The company has three locations, Naperville, St. Charles and Oswego. Design Consultants are always available in each store to schedule a free consultation.  For more information, visit
