DETAILS: Tour a modern dairy facility and watch robotic milking while you eat ice cream, learn about the benefits of modern dairy barns, and choose to support local food pantries, all during June, National Dairy Month. Families are invited to a dairy open house hosted by Lenkaitis Holsteins of St. Charles. Between 11am and 3pm, the event features activities for all ages, rotating guided tours of the dairy barn with robotic milking, and dairy industry displays. Admission is free and ice cream is available for a $2 donation per scoop. All proceeds support the Kane County Farm Bureau’s 10,000 Gallon Milk Challenge to provide area food pantries with 10,000 gallons of milk, with no deadline in sight.
