St. Charles, IL - May 27, 2023 - The St. Charles History Museum is excited to announce the opening of its newest exhibit, "(Almost) Another Century of Progress: St. Charles and the 1933 World’s Fair." This immersive exhibit takes visitors back to the 1933 World’s Fair in Chicago, highlighting St. Charles’s significant role in this historic event. The exhibit will open on June 1, 2023, and will run through the end of the year.
The exhibit explores the roots of the 1933 World’s Fair, the planning process, and the impact of the Great Depression on its execution. It also delves into the contributions of St. Charles to the fair, including the participation of local businesses and residents. One of the exhibit’s highlights is a section dedicated to the centennial celebration of St. Charles, which coincided with the World’s Fair.
