St. Charles Community District 303 is pleased to invite the members of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce to visit St. Charles North H.S. on Wednesday, March 20. This will be a first hand look at the Technology and Engineering Education programs offered in District 303 schools. The centerpiece of this visit will be a presentation by Mrs. Marsha Brown, the Project Lead the Way teacher of St. Charles North. Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is the leading provider of rigorous and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education curricular programs used in middle and high schools across the U.S. The PLTW program is full implemented in District 303’s two high schools, and continues in its inaugural year in the middle schools. STEM education programs like the one offered by PLTW, engages students in activities-, projects-, and problem-based learning, which provides hands-on classroom experiences. Students create, design, build, discover, collaborate and solve problems while applying what they learn in math and science. This program would not be possible without the supportive partnerships of the City of St. Charles, St. Charles Chamber of Commerce Council for Industry, and Community Unit School District 303. Visiting guests are to park in the south end parking lot near the auditorium; indicated in white parking lines. “Student Only” parking is indicated with blue parking lines. Guests will enter through the main entrance, and to expedite the check in process, have your drivers license available. If you have a name badge through your place of business, please have that visible when entering the school.
