Elgin Academy's Parker to Speak on Perfectionism and Anxiety

Did you know that there is a connection between perfectionism and anxiety?  Does your child struggle with one or both of these issues?

Elgin Academy's Director of Personalized Learning, Anne-Elise Parker will be speaking on "Perfectionism and Anxiety in Children" on November 6 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the Gail Borden Library.  Ms. Parker will explain the connection between perfectionism and anxiety along with offering suggestions for ways to support children who struggle with these issues.  She will also define the terms, help parents understand the vicious cycle of perfectionism and anxiety, and present ways to support children who struggle with one or both by fostering a grown mindset.  Positive coping skills and outside resources will also be provided.  The presentation will take place in the Elgin Room at the main location of the library at 270 N.
