Charting a Path toward Greater Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Today’s nonprofit leaders face critical and rapidly changing social needs that require thoughtful, responsive organizations. Ensuring that nonprofits embrace and reflect a sensitivity to diversity along multiple dimensions: race, age, income, gender, religion and more, is of the utmost importance. Research shows that organizations that are successful in creating inclusive work environments, reflected in their mission, staff and services, advance not only a moral civic imperative of fairness, but stand to better serve their clients and stakeholders. These organizations are building internal structures for long term viability.
This session will serve as a brief primer on diversity, equity and inclusion and will provide strategies and resources for organizational and personal assessment and key definitions used in racial equity efforts. Participants will leave better prepared to chart a path of greater inclusion in their organizations.
