3rd Street Dance to Produce “The Nutcracker Suite” at Arcada Theatre in St. Charles
 
For over 125 years, “The Nutcracker” has been a favorite with its magical costumes, classic score, delightful dancing, and lasting memories created every holiday season. The famous ballet has been a holiday tradition that many dance companies around the world showcase every December. Local dance studios across the country put on their own version of the production, while ballerinas of all ages brim with excitement to perform the “The Nutcracker”.
 
 
For the second year, 3rd Street Dance and Theatre will be performing an abridged version of the classic tale, “The Nutcracker Suite”, debuting for one day only on Saturday, December 15^th at 12:30 pm. This abbreviated show will be around 35 minutes long and star all local 3rd Street Dance dancers.
“We think it is important to have fun and allow all of our students enrolled in a ballet technique class to audition and perform this classic ballet. We have dancers from three to seventeen years old in the cast.” Alice Williams said.
 
3rd Street’s Holiday Showcase, Monday, December 10 at 6:45 pm and Saturday, December 15 at 10:30 am, will incorporate various performances from daily classes which will include several genres. Their “Nutcracker Suite” will be Saturday, December 15 at 12:30 pm. Festivity will be brought to St. Charles by 3rd Street Dance, as this these wonderful performances display the hard work of their dancers. These shows will be held at the Arcada Theatre, a perfect venue for the growing popularity of this fun holiday performance.
 
3rd Street Dance and Theatre has been igniting the passion of dance for over 22 years for any age and any stage. Alice Williams, Owner and Artistic Director of 3rd Street Dance and Theatre, has been performing dance and theatre since she was five years old. A St. Charles native, she is thrilled to showcase all the dancers hard work and open this event to the community. Nora Stavroplos is currently the Director of the “Nutcracker Suite” and has been teaching at 3rd Street Dance and Theatre for sixteen years. This condensed version of the timeless fairytale was choreographed by Nora Stavroplos.
