Hi, we are Ruthie and Hans Lehmann the founders of Kayla's Hope Foundation. We established this organization as a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, in 2018 after our daughter Kayla Brooke Lehmann ended her life in April of that year just 2 days after her 15th birthday. It is our mission to help those who struggle as she did. Finding the right support is significant and having that support without feeling stigmatized is equally so. We provide grants to those organizations in our local community that provide that type of support and education in our schools on mental health. We also offer scholarships for those high school seniors who financially need them to help them with a healthy start to their future. Our motto is "It's OKAY to not be OKAY" but it is equally important to reach out for help and to feel comfortable doing so.
