Arcada Theatre's 90th Anniversary......Labor Day mini-parade and Vaudeville show

1926 – 2016

Procession-style parade at 6:30 pm  Kicking off at 1^st Street and Main Street, and continues over the Fox River Bridge and turns right at 2^nd Avenue, then loops around The Arcada building, terminating on Riverside Avenue, which will be closed for the event.  

7 pm, a Vaudeville show Similar to the ones that were actually performed at The Arcada during its silent film heyday, will begin.  Vocalists, jugglers, tap dancers, Prohibition Era bands and other surprises will make up the 30-40 minute show.  A short version of the 1926 Our Gang comedy short, “The Fourth Alarm” that was premiered on opening night will be shown.  St. Charles Mayor Ray Rogina will read a St. Charles City Council Proclamation, and Ron Onesti will give a short presentation on the theatre’s colorful history.

The public is invited to this all-ages, complimentary event.  Free Blue Goose Cake and Colonial Ice Cream will be served at this historic event.  Tickets are required and costumes are encouraged, but NOT mandatory.  Free tickets may be obtained by calling 630.962.7000 or online at www.oshows.com.
