Description
A holiday tradition since 1972!
Cherish the sounds of holiday music, the scent of fresh-cut evergreens, the warmth of a glowing fire, the flicker of candlelight, and the flavor of old-fashioned treats as your family explores the historic 1843 Durant-Peterson House.
Also visit the 1872 Sholes School, a short stroll from the Durant-Peterson House, for a traditional children's Christmas Pageant.
Both museums are included in one low price!
Tickets are $5/Adult and $1/child. Entry times are at half-hour intervals at the Durant-Peterson House Museum to ease congestion. Your visit can extend longer than the half-hour interval you select. (NOTE: The least congested time at the House is during the Sholes School Pageants, times listed below.)
TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE (highly recommended) at PPFV.org/candlelight.
At the 1843 Durant-Peterson House Museum
- Holiday decorations typical for 1800s
- Natural fragrance of evergreens throughout the museum
- Docents in period dress sharing stories of the Durants and Petersons
- Warm, crackling fire in the hearth
- Holiday music played by junior docents
- Old-fashioned ginger cake and ribbon candy samples
At the 1872 Sholes School Museum
Relive a traditional Christmas Pageant where students recite their lessons and everyone sings carols! Showtimes are:
- 2:30 PM
- 3:15 PM
- 4:30 PM
- 5:15 PM
Each show is approximately 20 minutes.
Seating is first-come, first-served and is limited.
