We are seeking an upbeat, friendly, compassionate person to be the first person in contact with our dental patients on a day-to-day basis and assist in the dental clinic itself. The majority of the patients we see at TCHP speak Spanish as their primary language, so bilingual English/Spanish is essential. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping people, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and best-of-the-best people skills. This person will be dependable, and community-minded. In your role as Front Desk Coordinator, you will also be interacting with dental and medical volunteers regularly, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the clinic. You’ll report to the Dental Practice Manager, and work regularly with the Executive Director, and Dental Director.

You will be able to learn the basics of dental operations and procedures at our clinic from seasoned dental professionals.
 
Core Responsibilities:

  • Receptionist general duties:
    • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
    • Manage patient check in / check out process
    • Schedule clinic appointments and send reminders / make reminder phone calls
    • Vet patients to determine eligibility and maintain records
    • Coordinate with dental and medical staff and volunteers to ensure efficient and effective patient flow
    • Answer phone calls and manager inquiries
  • Open/Close the clinic
  • Provide translation assistance
  • Assist with data collection and maintain records, recognizing confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
  • Assist with volunteer program:
    • Coordinate volunteer schedules
    • Maintain contact information
  • Assist with basic dental assistant duties:
    • Room turnover
    • Sterilization of instruments
    • Assisting dental provider during procedures
  • Back up other team members
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Bilingual Spanish and English
  • 2+ years experience in a clinical office and/or relevant college education
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent phone skills
  • Familiarity with office equipment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in clinic management or healthcare administration.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
  • This is an hourly position at $16-$21 per hour.
  • Periodically, additional hours may be available, if requested and approved in advance.

Hours:
Part-time 24-29 hours each week, M-F 8:30am-4:30pm.
Occasional evenings and/or weekends.

Primary location is on site in the clinic.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications
